House cleaning in Denver, for homes with pets

A clean home that still lets the dog on the couch

Tell us who lives with you: dogs, cats, anyone who sneezes. Mahlet reads your answers and texts back within one business day with how we handle the crate, the door and the hair.

  • Crate, door and hair rules in writing
  • Product list on your estimate
  • Certificate of insurance on request

Pets at home

Crate, door, hair: the three rules your cleaners follow

Written once, read by every cleaner on your team, and pinned to your first visit sheet.

  • Crate

A crated pet stays crated. We don't open a crate, feed a pet or let one out, even to be kind.

    • Tell us which room the crate is in and we clean around it

    • A dog who barks at strangers? Say so, and we text from the driveway

    • Bowls, beds and medicine stay exactly where you keep them

  • Door

Doors stay as we found them. A shut door stays shut; the front door closes behind us every time.

    • Cat who bolts or a dog who slips out: put it on the pet card

    • Gates and pet doors: you show us once, we log it

    • Gates and the garage are checked again before we leave

  • Hair

Hair comes up first. We vacuum with a sealed-filter HEPA vacuum before any damp cloth touches a surface.

    • Sofas, pet beds and stair carpet get their own pass

    • Fur on hard floors is lifted dry, then mopped

    • Washing a pet's bedding is an add-on you choose

What we don't do: litter boxes, accidents on the floor, or any pet's medicine. Your estimate says so in plain words.

Before the first visit

One pet card, filled in before we arrive

Mahlet texts you a short card. Your cleaners read it in the van, so nobody is guessing at the door.

The card asks for names and nicknames, who hides and who greets, what the dog does when the vacuum comes out, and where the leash lives. It also asks what sets off a sneeze in your house, so the product list is settled before anyone walks in.

What the card asks

  • Names, nicknames and who bolts

  • Which rooms stay closed

  • The vacuum: loud, scary or ignored

  • What sets off a sneeze

The crew

A family firm, eight people, the same two at your door

Mahlet runs the schedule and answers the phone. Visits go to the same two-person team whenever we can.

  • Mahlet Alemu

    Owner

Books every first visit herself and reads every pet card. Cleans on Saturdays.

  • Biruk Alemu

    Crew lead

Takes the homes with big dogs and the stairs that hold the most hair.

  • Krystyna Nowicki

    Crew lead

Takes the cat households and the homes where anyone reacts to scent.

What's in the caddy

The allergen product list

Named on your estimate before the first visit. Tell us what sets you off, and we change the list.

  • Surfaces

    Unscented all-purpose cleaner

Counters, tables, sills and sinks. Where a cleaner for the job carries the EPA Safer Choice label, we choose it.

  • Floors and sofas

    Sealed-filter HEPA vacuum

One per crew, with the filter checked before every home. Hair and dander are lifted dry, not wiped around.

  • Cloths

Microfiber cloths, washed after each home

Color-coded by room, washed hot between homes and never with fabric softener.

  • Laundry

    Fragrance-free laundry detergent

For the bedding and pet blankets you leave out for us.

  • On request

    Water and a cloth

For glass, screens and anything you'd rather we left products off. Just say so.

What pet owners write back

“Our lab sheds twice a year and the sofa shows it. The sofa gets its own pass now, and nobody has let him out once.”

Sana P.Every two weeks, Berkeley

“I said my daughter reacts to scented sprays. The product list arrived before the first visit, and the house smelled of nothing.”

Tamer H.Allergy reset, Washington Park

“Two cats, and one hides under the bed. The pet card meant nobody went looking for her.”

Questions pet owners ask first

Do I need to be home?

No. Most clients leave a key or a code and fill in the pet card. If a pet is anxious with strangers, we can start with you home for the first visit.

What if my dog barks at the cleaners?

Tell us on the pet card. We'll text from the driveway, give the dog time, and skip a room if the dog is guarding it.

Can you use fragrance-free products?

Yes. Say so on the form and the list on your estimate will show it. If your allergist names a product, hand it to us and we'll use it.

What happens if a pet gets out?

We call you right away, search the yard and the street outside your door, and stay until you tell us what to do. The policy page has the steps.

How is a clean priced?

By home size, condition, how many pets and how much hair, and how often. You get a number in writing before anything is booked.
