Pricing

How pricing works

We don't put a price on a page, because a home with two labs and a home with one cat aren't the same job. Here's how the number is decided.

  • What decides the price

Five things move it, and the form asks about each.

    • Home size and how many bedrooms and bathrooms

    • Condition: how long since the last thorough clean

    • Pets: how many, how large, how much hair

    • Frequency: weekly, every two weeks, monthly or once

    • Access: stairs, parking, gates and alarms

  • What the estimate includes, and what it doesn't

It lists the rooms, the crew size, the hours and the products. It leaves out add-ons you haven't picked.

    • Included: the rooms, the checklist and the product list

    • Not included: add-ons, laundry and anything outside the checklist

    • Not included: a tip, which is up to you

  • What happens at the visit

The first visit is the visit. There's no separate walk-through charge. The crew follows the checklist and Mahlet checks in by text after.

    • The crew texts when they arrive and when they leave

    • If the home is bigger or hairier than described, Mahlet tells you before extra time is added

  • When you get the number

In writing, before anything is booked. You confirm by replying to the text.

    • A written estimate by text or email

    • The same number applies on every visit until the home or schedule changes

  • If the job changes

A change to the rooms or the schedule is priced the same way, and you agree to it before it starts.

    • An added room or add-on gets a new written line

    • Nothing is added to a visit after the fact

A walkthrough, no figures

Three bedrooms, two baths, one dog, every two weeks

These are the five things Mahlet asks before she writes the number.

  1. 01

Step 1: How big is the house?

Three bedrooms, two baths and a finished basement counts as three floors of vacuuming.

  2. 02

Step 2: How much hair is there?

One dog who sheds heavily means extra time on the sofa and the stairs.

  3. 03

Step 3: What does the dog do at the door?

If the dog is a greeter, the visit starts a few minutes slower. If the dog hides, it doesn't.

  4. 04

Step 4: Are there stairs or gates?

Stair carpet and baby gates both add steps to the visit.

  5. 05

Step 5: When is the next clean?

Every two weeks keeps the hair from building up, and that changes the time needed.

About price

Why no prices on the site?

Because the honest number depends on your house and your pets. We'd rather ask five questions than print a number that doesn't fit.

Will the price change after I book?

Not unless the home or the schedule changes, and we tell you first.

Do pets cost more?

They can, because hair adds time. The estimate shows it as a line, not a surprise.
