The policy in full
The pets-at-home policy
Every cleaner on your team has read this page. Your pet card can change any of it for your house.
Crates
A crated pet stays crated for the whole visit. We never open, move or unlatch a crate, and we clean the floor around it.
Tell us the room the crate is in
If a pet is crated and distressed, we'll text you and stop
Doors and gates
A closed door stays closed. We close the front door behind us on the way in and check gates and the garage before we begin.
Pet doors and baby gates: show us once
We re-check every gate before we leave
Hair and dander
Hair is vacuumed dry, with a sealed-filter HEPA vacuum, before any damp cloth touches a surface.
Sofas, pet beds and stairs get their own pass
The vacuum filter is checked before every home
Shedding seasons
Coats blow in spring and fall. Say so, and we plan extra hair time for that visit.
Spring and fall fill first; book early
Tell us if a pet is brushed daily
Nervous or reactive pets
If a dog barks at strangers or a cat hides, say so. We text from the driveway and work around them.
We skip a room a dog is guarding
We never reach into a hiding spot
Accidents, litter and medicine
We don't clean litter boxes or accidents on the floor, and we never give a pet medicine or food.
If we find an accident, we text you a photo
Medicine stays where you keep it

If a pet gets out
What we do in the first five minutes
It's rare. It's also the call you most want us to handle well.
We stop work and call you straight away. We search the yard, the alley and the street outside your door, and we text you what we see. We stay until you tell us what to do, and we'll leave a note of who was in the house and when.
Our steps
A call, not a text, first
A search of the yard and the street
A written note of who was in the house
We stay until you say what's next

More on pets
Do you clean with my dog home?
Yes, if your dog is calm with strangers and you tell us how they greet people. Otherwise we ask for a crate or a closed room.
What about cats who hide?
We never reach into a hiding place. We clean the room around the cat and note it on the visit text.
Do you wash pet bedding?
As an add-on you choose. We use the detergent you name.
Send us the pet card first
Request a clean and Mahlet texts you the card, so we know your house before we're in it.
